Artificial Grass Maintenance

Artificial Grass is a low maintenance but not a no maintenance surface. An Artificial Grass lawn will only need minimum but regular work to keep it looking great and to extend its life to the maximum. Well maintained Artificial Grass lawns should provide years and years of pleasure.

Artificial Grass Maintenance

Artificial Grass Maintenance
You should occasionally lightly brush the Artificial Grass with a stiff broom and pick up leaves and any other garden debris or biodegradable matter that may have blown onto the surface.
Artificial Grass Maintenance
If it were necessary to clean a dirty area of the artificial grass, the area should be lightly washed with lukewarm clean soapy water. Please do not use a pressure hose as these can remove the sand infill
Artificial Grass MaintenanceIf you have used a sand infill little seedlings/germinating weeds may sprout in the in-filled material. As these are only in the sand surface these seedlings will be easily pulled out. Prevention is by means of removing all biodegradable matter that would otherwise decompose to form a soil base. A weed suppression membrane, if used, will stop vegetation growing through from underneath the surface.

Artificial Grass Maintenance

A proprietary weed killer may need to be used if the artificial grass has not been properly maintained for a period of time. Care should be taken and advice sought should the situation arise. In damp areas it may be necessary to treat the surface with a moss killer once per year (a liquid form containing diclorophen)

Additional amounts of silica sand can be used to top up and replace the sand infill. This needs to be spread evenly and carefully to ensure that the artificial grass is not overfilled. The sand infill is important, acting as ballast, keeping your lawn flat and supporting the pile of the artificial grass creating a look that is both natural and durable.
Artificial Grass Maintenance

Hot items such as barbeques should not be placed directly onto the surface or damage will occur. Do not allow cigarettes to be stubbed out on the surface.
Artificial Grass Maintenance
Avoid placing or moving heavy objects on the surface which may cause rutting of the Artificial Grass.
Artificial Grass Maintenance
Snow should be left to melt. Salt and other chemical de-icers should not be used.
Artificial Grass Maintenance

Discourage dogs from digging the surface and pulling at the edges.
